When Is It OK To Hate and Kill?

Bin Ladin hated us, and justified his form of war, terrorism, to kill us with impunity. He justified his actions by fomenting hatred of the imperialistic west, for interfering in their economy, power, oil, religion, culture. For this, they, and their followers justified their brutal killing of us, the heathen.

America has finally killed Bin Ladin. Score a point for America. But the game is not won. The game is not over. What is the score? Will there ever be a winner after the death and carnage on both sides?

Yes, it is good that Bin Ladin is gone. His contribution to the hatred and terrorism has been eliminated. He was an evil person, but his venom still flows in his followers. Should we round up all of his followers, and eliminate them so the rest of us can have the world the way we want it?

To celebrate his death, to feel vindicated, revenge, is a pyrrhic victory. Don’t expect his followers to quit.

At what cost do we declare victory?

The cost includes the hate that it instills in us.

The economy and beauty of Twitter is that it’s a two-way country highway with friends passing in the opposite direction. You both share some ideas, links, thoughts and mind-share and then move on as opposed to most social networks that resemble an 8-lane highway with exits, detours, road construction and accidents.

Goodbye Old Friend

Spirit of Grandma

I took this picture in my backyard and it’s rather special to me. Ya see, my grandma, who I was very close with, had a knack for growing beautiful orchids and me, on the other hand, only thing I seem to be good at growing is a beer belly. That’s what makes this pic so special; this stunning flower was grown fully in my backyard and despite my neglect, turned into one beautiful specimen. So now, every time I see it, it brings back memories of my wonderful grandma and serves as a reminder that her spirit live on.
